The scheduled bout between James Warfield and Jason Dent at “Fight Nite in the Flats 8” has been scrapped following Dent’s unanimous decision loss earlier this month to Rustam Khabilov.

But always looking to get back into the cage Warfield has already signed on to face a new opponent and will now meet Abel Trujillo at Championship Fighting Alliance 7 in Florida on June 30.

For Warfield the time to win is now. After nearly eight years as a professional that never saw “The Unbreakable Heavy Hitter” lose consecutive fights, Warfield has dropped three straight bouts to nationally respected opponents Luis Palomino, Joe Ellenberger, and Sherron Leggett.

Turning 34-years-old earlier this month, Warfield has enjoyed an impressive career in which he has amassed a record of 22-10. With 22 stoppages in 22 victories the dynamic striker has lived up to his reputation as one of the Midwest’s most feared strikers.

But opponents who are able to avoid Warfield’s knockout blows have given the lightweight fits in recent memory. In his most recent matchup, a main event bout against Palomino at CFA 6 in April, Warfield fired out of the gates only to be outlasted and outpointed in the later rounds. Five of his last six losses have come via similar methods.

Up next for Warfield is the 28-year-old Trujillo out Iowa. Trujillo, who now trains in Florida alongside Rashad Evans, Melvin Guillard, and more, has won three straight fights and most recently submitted James Edson Berto on the same card that saw Warfield falter to Palomino.
